'Yet Profound, Wells of Deep Memory' is an essay I wrote for Matt Knight's Irish Rebels and Revolutionaries Seminar at the University of South Florida. Since it was my final seminar paper and therefore the best work I've done so far, I am using it to apply to graduate history programs. This site is a place for that document to be displayed publically and to provide a resource for other researchers. It is in the interest of advancing the cause of carefully-researched historical analysis and discussion that I make this work public. As historians, I believe strongly that we share in the dual responsibility of the educated; first, to uncover Truth, truth, and truths through research and collaboration, and second, to express those findings not only for the educated but also for those in search of understanding. What little good can our arguments and diligence do behind the walls of the university? What greater gains can be achieved by an elevation of us all through our expert work and care?
