Microsoft Office files for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are all based on a file format standard named Open Packaging Convention (OPC). *python-opc* is a robust, general-purpose library for low-level manipulation of Open Packaging Convention (OPC) packages (.docx, .xlsx, .pptx files), for example to access the XML and binary contents for indexing purposes and perhaps for manipulating package parts, for example to remove slide notes pages from a PowerPoint file. *python-opc* is used as a foundation module in the *python-docx*, *python-pptx*, and *python.xlsx* projects.
